Australian Green Clean have launched their Volunteer Program! We require a team of Environmental Volunteers to oversee patrons’ use of correct waste streams on site at sustainable events and festivals around Adelaide.

Duties & Responsibilities  

If you have been to a festival you know how much rubbish is produced. Our Green Loop Program™ is a unique step by step process that carefully manages and diverts waste from going to landfill, thus reducing the amount of harmful greenhouse gases that are emitted into our atmosphere.  

As an Environmental Volunteer, your role in this program is crucial in educating the public about our three bin system including organic, can & bottle, and general waste. You will be recognized as a “Bin Buddy” who has the valuable role of assisting event and festival patrons in using the correct bins for their rubbish. You can expect to be given a cluster of bins to oversee, as well as communicate with Australian Green Clean staff regarding full bins, rubbish hazards or areas requiring cleaning attention.  


All volunteers must: 

  • Be minimum of 18 years of age 

  • Undertake an induction which will educate you about our bin systems and waste management processes  

  • Have a flexible schedule with weekend availability  

  • Have a reliable and consistent mode of transportation to and from event sites  

  • Have a positive, approachable personality with a can-do attitude 


Volunteer Key Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee an allocated area of an event site  

  • Represent Australian Green Clean in a professional way at major events and festivals  

  • Inform and assist patrons in correct waste stream bin usage  

  • Communicate with Australian Green Clean staff regarding bin levels and cleaning issues
